A poem for Linda

In the long nights
Without you
Time is slow
Past molasses
A moment unchanging
And I wonder
What kind of world
Makes us illegal
And holds your health
Hostage to my absence
What kind of world
The night outside is
wet and windy
Warning of storms but
Holds not a candle
Or measure to
The storm within
Part of me is
Missing with your absence
And I despair of its
Ever return
The song says
“I feel like I
Am forever gone…”
Tomorrow will be
Another day
I hope soon the day
Will be new
And time not stuck
But moving to new song
And melody.
I will not stop
Nor turn around
And I pray Dear Lord
One day
One day soon
I will be finally
For once and always
